Recently, the clinical medical research team for brain science and neurological diseases, led by Professor Shi Wei—Member of the University Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice President, Party Secretary of the Affiliated Hospital, and Chief Neurosurgeon—has made significant progress in investigating the impact of specific cranial bone marrow immune responses on persistent neuroinflammation in the chronic phase of traumatic brain injury (TBI). The related research findings, titled "Cranial bone marrow-derived monocytes promote neuroinflammation in chronic traumatic brain injury," have been published as a featured article in the 30th issue of Science Translational Medicine in September 2026.
