Recently, Clarivate Analytics, an international third-party evaluation agency, released the ESI data for September 2026. Nantong University's Agricultural Science discipline has entered the ESI global top 1% for the first time, marking a new breakthrough in disciplinary development. This follows the advancement of the Social Sciences, General discipline into the ESI global top 1% in January this year, representing another landmark achievement in the university's efforts to deepen disciplinary connotation and optimize its disciplinary layout.

According to the data, the Agricultural Science discipline currently has 282 indexed papers, with a cumulative citation frequency of 3,844 and an average citation frequency of 13.63 per paper. With this addition, the total number of ESI global top 1% disciplines at the university has increased to 14. The university's overall ranking has also risen accordingly, now standing at 860th globally—up 122 places compared to the same period last year—and 112th among mainland Chinese universities, up 4 places from the same period.
