Nantong University Hosts "Intelligence Gathering at Nantong University · Envisioning the Future" 2025 China-Italy Education Cooperation Dialogue

On September 10, the "Intelligence Gathering at Nantong University · Envisioning the Future" 2025 China-Italy Education Cooperation Dialogue was successfully held at our university. The event was attended by distinguished guests including Tiziana D’Angelo, Consul General of the Italian Consulate in Shanghai; Chen Dongmei, Member of the Nantong Municipal Committee Standing Committee and Chief of the Press and Publication Bureau; Yu Weidong, Second-Level Investigator from the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education; Sun Jianbo, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of Nantong Education Bureau; and Huang Chen, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of Nantong Foreign Affairs Office.

During the event, Yang Yumin, Secretary of the University Party Committee, met with the distinguished guests, while University President Professor Wang Jianpu delivered the opening address. Other university leaders present included Wang Weidong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee; Hua Liang, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice President; and Tao Feng, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Director of the Publicity Department.

The ceremony witnessed the launch of three significant collaborative achievements between Nantong University and Siena, Italy. Attendees jointly witnessed the unveiling ceremonies of relevant platforms and institutions:

• Chen Dongmei, Wang Jianpu, Tiziana D’Angelo, and Roberto di Pietra jointly unveiled the "Nantong University-Siena Future Biotechnology Institute," a Sino-foreign cooperative education institution;

• Wang Weidong, Huang Chen, Anna Carli, and Vanna Giunti jointly unveiled the "China-Italy Education and Culture Collaborative Development Center";

• Hua Liang, Tao Feng, Stefania Mortelliti (Economic Consul of the Italian Consulate in Shanghai), Francesco D’Arelli (Director of the Cultural Office), Carla Bagna, and Xiang Xuwei (Jiangsu Provincial Overseas Friendship Ambassador) jointly unveiled the "Innovative Base for Collaborative Training of Italian Language Talents."

This event marks a significant step in strengthening educational cooperation between China and Italy, establishing substantial platforms for future collaboration in biotechnology, cultural exchange, and language education.
