The School of Information Science and Technology at Nantong University is a vibrant academic institution dedicated to cultivating talent and advancing research in the fields of information technology, communication engineering, and so on. The faculty comprises experienced lecturers and researchers with significant expertise in engineering and advanced technologies. The school is well-equipped with modern laboratories and facilities, enabling students to engage in cutting-edge research and innovation.

The school offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs in electronic and information engineering, communication engineering, and internet of things engineering, which are designed to equip students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills, fostering their ability to solve complex problems in the ever-evolving technological landscape. Among these, electronic and information engineering and communication engineering are recognized as national first-class undergraduate programs. The latter is also included in the "Excellence in Engineering Education" program of Jiangsu Province. Additionally, these two programs have been accredited by the National Ministry of Education under the National Accreditation Framework For Engineering Education.

The school offers a comprehensive academic framework, including doctoral and master’s programs in information and communication engineering, as well as a professional master’s degree in the field of electronic and information (specializing in communication engineering). It also hosts a postdoctoral research station in information and communication engineering. This discipline has been designated as one of the key disciplines in Jiangsu province, which is also ranked among the top 35% of China’s best disciplines by the Shanghai Ranking. Additionally, the disciplines of engineering and computer science are globally ranked in the top 3‰ and 6‰ of the ESI, respectively.

The school is equipped with advanced research facilities such as Tongke National Industrial Institute of Microelectronics, Jiangsu Engineering Research Center for Heterogeneous Integration of RF Chips，Public Training Base for Talent Integration in Industry and Information, and the Technology Center for High-Integration Antennas and New Communication Equipment. In collaboration with Tsinghua University, the school has established Nantong Research Institute for Advanced Communication Technologies. Additional resources include Nantong Public Service Platform for Electronic Information Technology, Nantong Public Service Platform for Virtual Reality Technology, and Nantong Key Laboratory for High-Performance Computing. The school has also established over 10 provincial-level graduate workstations collaborating with enterprises.
