Graduation Design from School of Textile and Clothing Shortlisted in International Fashion Competition
According to the news released by Arts of Fashion Competition 2022, “OVERTURN”, Liu Xinyi’s graduation design, has been shortlisted into the final, making Liu the second NTU student ascending to the fifty finalists worldwide of the AOF Competition after Yin Zhuoran, graduate of 2019, won the top 10 three years ago. Liu Xinyi, a 2022 graduate of Clothing and Dress Design of the School of Textile and Clothing, finished her works under the instruction of Xu Yangui and Ren Huaisheng.
Inspired by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on human life, OVERTURN expresses the good wishes that mankind will be immune from disasters by delineating the change of silk to demonstrate a shared global economy in that all rise or fall together in the post-pandemic era, along with traces of threads and lots of hollow-out designs to symbolize the interwoven world.
The AOF Competition sponsored by the U.S. Arts of Fashion Foundation provides an internationally prestigious platform for fashion design majors around the world to make exchanges and communication. This year, This year, participating in the competition are students from 102 institutions and universities of 27 countries, including those from the world’s top fashion design institutions, such as Istituto Marangoni (Italy), London College of fashion (UK), Parsons School of Design (USA), Fashion Institute of Technology (USA), and Royal Academy of Fine Arts (Antwerp, Belgium).
The dynamic performance of the final is scheduled to take place in New York City in December.
