Nature Index recently released its 2022 tables which are based on Nature Index data from 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2021. According to it, Nantong University ranks 97^th among mainland universities and colleges, 18 places higher than the same period last year, with the Count being 63 and the Share 28.84（up 66.2% year on year）.

In recent years, NTU has been deepening reforms of scientific and technological  mechanism by fully implementing the 30 guidelines. A scientific research evaluation system has been established to cultivate top talents with high-quality achievements, further unleashing the innovation vitality of scientific researchers. In 2021, 101 national scientific research projects were newly added, along with 19 provincial-level scientific research achievement awards and 4 provincial-level scientific research platforms.
