Established in June 2018 as a pioneering program for undergraduate education, School of Zhang Jian embodies the educational philosophy of Mr. Zhang Jian, a renowned industrialist and educator, who advocated that "knowledge must serve practical application, and application must be tailored to local needs." Guided by his innovative spirit of "daring to lead the world," the school leverages the university’s key disciplines and premier resources to deliver a cutting-edge, interdisciplinary education. Through personalized training programs, cross-disciplinary integration, and deep industry-academia collaboration, it has established itself as a high-caliber hub for cultivating innovative talent in the field of "AI+."

In December 2024, to address national priorities in scientific advancement and meet the growing demand for skilled medical professionals under the Healthy China initiative, the college further launched the Basic Medicine (Zhang Jian Honors Program), dedicated to nurturing elite medical talents equipped to contribute to the nation’s healthcare development.
