The project of  NMPA Key Laboratory for Research and Evaluation of Tissue Engineering Technology Products from NTU has been approved after rounds of evaluation steps including examination and recommendation, video defense, field visit, comprehensive review, and project publicity etc, according to the recent announcement of the second batch of key laboratories by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA).

Propped by Nantong University, the Laboratory will focus on the construction and application, the evaluation and detection standard system of tissue engineering nerves, as well as its clinical specification. It will highlight the research and evaluation of tissue engineering technology products of the university and technically support the development of people's well-being by accelerating China's tissue engineering industry through further industry-university-research cooperation.

The Laboratory is the sole key laboratory of its type in China, with academician Gu Xiaosong serving as the director of the laboratory and academician Wang Junzhi the director of the academic committee.
