Associate Professor Ma Yan of School of Textile and Clothing of Nantong University, as the first author and Nantong University as the first employer,  published an academic paper entitled Effect of Hot Water on the Mechanical Performance of Unidirectional Carbon Fiber-reinforced Nylon 6 Composites in the authoritative journal Composites Science and Technology, together with  researchers from Tokyo University and Nihon University of Japan, and Donghua University of China.

Through observing moisture absorption behavior, mechanical properties and stiffness degradation of unidirectional carbon fber-reinforced nylon 6 composites under different hot water immersion conditions, the research revealed the law of damage on the composites by hyther and its mechanism of action from a micro perspective. The research findings are of great importance for reference in studying the durability of composites under the hygrothermal environment.
