Dr. Chen Chang-sheng’s Paper Published in ACS Nano

2020-04-22

Dr. Chen Changsheng, a young teacher of the School of Life Science, recently published an academic thesis in the journal ACS Nano under the name of Nantong  University as the first author institute. ACS Nano is a top journal under the ACS (American Chemical Society) in the field of material science. It is in Division 1 of the JCR of Chinese Academy of Sciences with its impact factor is 13.903.

The thesis innovatively proposes a new membrane protein labeling method, which relies on the high specificity interaction between zinc finger proteins and the double-stranded DNA to label organic fluorescent molecules on the target proteins. In this way, and combined with single-molecule fluorescence imaging, the subunit composition and geometric configuration of membrane protein complex can be studied and researched to verify the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases caused by mutations of some essential proteins.
