The Result of Covid-19 Research by Associate Professor Qin Gang and His Team of School of Public Health is Published in an International Authoritative Journal
On April 7th, Dr. Qin Gang, Associate Professor in School of Public Health, and deputy chief physician and his team of the third affiliated hospital of Nantong University, joined hands with anti-epidemic medical team and epidemic control personnel in Huangshi City to publish online a research report in the international authoritative journal of Clinical Infectious Diseases entitled “Measures of ‘City Lockdown’ to Curb the Spread of Covid-19——Early Epidemiological Findings.
The research report describes the early epidemiological characteristics of Covid-19 in Huangshi city under the strong intervention by the Chinese government, and points out that non-drug intervention has successfully achieved the effect of Peak Repression and Epidemic Mitigation. The so-called Huangshi Experience in China provides a solution and typical case for the current epidemic prevention and control measures in global high-risk cities. It is reported that as Covid-19 continues to spread around the world, many countries began to adopt a strategy similar to the city lockdown.
The journal of Clinical Infectious Diseases is ranked third among 88 international journals in the field of infectious diseases, with an impact factor of 9.055 in 2019. This research was completed with the assistance and sponsorship of the 3 projects, including “Young Medical Talents (No. QNRC2016402) under “Science, Education and Health” project of Jiangsu Provincial Health Commission, Six Targets project (No. LGY2017039) and the municipal clinical medical center project (No. HS2016002) of Nantong City Science and Technology Bureau.
