Yang Huangtian

Born in 1957 in Shanghai, Yang Huangtian entered the Medical Department of the former NantongMedicalCollege in 1977 to study medicine, and stayed to teach after graduation. She is currently the vice president, research fellow, doctoral supervisor, and project leader of Shanghai Academy of Biological Sciences and Health Science Institute of School of Medicine at ShanghaiJiaotongUniversity.

She was a teaching assistant and a lecturer in pharmacology teaching and research department of NantongMedicalCollege, and a visiting researcher and assistant in pharmacology teaching and research department of Medicine Division of Yamato University of Japan.

Dr. Yang is the vice president of China Branch of the International Society for Heart Research of the “Hundred Talent Program”, member of Biophysical Society and American Heart Association, member of Cardiovascular and Receptor Committee of Chinese Society of Pathophysiology, director member of the China Society of Cell Biology, director of the High Altitude Medical Association of the Chinese Medical Association, director of the Chinese Physiology Society, and vice president of the Shanghai Physiology Society.

She led and undertook numerous major national scientific research projects, national key basic research and development programs (973 projects), major and key projects from the National Fund Committee, as well as directional projects from the ChineseAcademy of Sciences and Shanghai Major Scientific Research Projects. She received the NIH “Outstanding Research Award”, Shanghai Science and Education System’s March 8th Red Banner-Woman, and other honors.
