Gu Renwas born in 1962 in Nantong, Jiangsu Province. In 1979, he entered the former NantongTextileCollege majoring in industrial electrical automation. He is currently the chairman of Changzhou Hongda Technology (Group).

Mr. Gu is the deputy leader of Automation Group of China Textile Machinery and Equipment Engineering Institute, deputy director of Electrical and Mechanical Group of Jiangsu Textile Society, deputy head of Electrical Engineering Section of Dyeing and Finishing Committee of China Textile Society.

He is a technical evaluation expert of China International Textile Machinery Exhibition, receiving the title of 2004 Changzhou City Young and Middle-aged Professional and Technical Top Talent, and won first prize for mulberry textile technology in 2000.

He was an assistant engineer of Changzhou Textile Equipment Factory and director of Changzhou Automation Equipment Factory.
