Qian Hongda was born in 1964 in Qidong, Jiangsu Province. In 1981 he entered the Department of Chemistry of the former Nantong Normal College. He is now the principal of Qidong Middle School in Jiangsu Province, a middle school Special-Class Teacher, member of Nantong City CPPCC, and member of standing committee of Qidong CPPCC .

At Qidong Middle School, Mr. Qian was the deputy director of registrar’s office, vice principal, and director of Olympiad Center. He is currently a member of China Chemistry Society and director of Nantong Chemistry Society.

Mr. Qian has been awarded the honorary title of National Excellent Teacher, Young and Middle-aged Science & Technology Top Talents, New Long March Pace-Setter, Excellent Gardener in Jiangsu Province, Nantong City Education System Subject Leader, Nantong City Professional and Technical Top Talent, and Nantong City Ten Outstanding Youth. In 2003, he was elected the third level trainee of 333 Project by the Organization Department of Jiangsu Provincial CPC Committee.
