In November 2019, the results of the 16th Huawei Cup mathematical contest for graduate students in China were publicized. After winning the national first prize in 2018, our graduate students won 1 first prize, 10 second prizes and 5 third prizes. The proportion of awards is the best in the whole province, and the total number of awards exceeds the total number of awards of all previous years of our University, among which the number of second prize awards has made a major breakthrough.

The 16th China Graduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling was held in September 2019, sponsored by the Academic Degree and GraduateEducationDevelopmentCenter of the Ministry of Education and undertaken by FuzhouUniversity. A total of 14,014 teams from 486 graduate student training institutions in 34 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government and special administrative regions of China participated in the competition. Compared with 2018, 1,807 teams added to participate and the influence of the competition was further expanded. After online evaluation and centralized evaluation by the Competition Expert Committee, 188 teams won the first prize (1.3%), 1903 teams won the second prize (13%) and 2821 teams won the third prize (20%).
