On the afternoon of May 28, 2019, NantongUniversity held its 107th anniversary celebration. The event honored the winners of the Outstanding Contribution Award of Nantong University in 2018 and held the alumni donation ceremony and the induction ceremony of new teachers in 2019.
From the two private single-major schools with more than 20 students and around 10 faculty members founded in 1912, NTU is today a comprehensive university with 10 disciplines, more than 40,000 undergraduate, masters’, and doctoral students and more than 3,100 faculty members. From first exploring the idea of Father Emphasizing Education and Mother Grasping Industry, NTU has become the first batch of provincial high-level universities to cultivate and support the construction of universities, ranking 122nd in comprehensive strength in university evaluation of ChineseAcademy of Management Sciences and 112th in ESI Ranking of Chinese Universities. In the past 107 years, NTU has been rooted in China and continuously inherited from its past and developed for the future. In the past 107 years, NTU practiced its way and cultivated its innovating spirit. In the past 107 years, generations of NTU faculty, staff, and students struggled and dedicated themselves to create many brilliant achievements. Now, standing on the shoulders of predecessors, the NTU people continue to look far and ahead to strive for excellence and new development.
