Established in January 2019 through the merger of the former School of Transportation and School of Architectural Engineering, the School of Transportation and Civil Engineering adheres to the development philosophy of "Solid Foundations in Civil Engineering, Blossoming Achievements through Integration and Connectivity." It is dedicated to cultivating innovative, interdisciplinary professionals in the fields of transportation, civil engineering, and engineering management. The school possesses a strong faculty of 112 staff members, including 93 full-time teachers. Among them, 42 hold senior professional titles, and 86.5% have doctoral degrees. The faculty includes over 10 high-level talents of various types, such as those under national-level talent programs, experts receiving special government allowances from the State Council, second-tier candidates of Jiangsu's "333 High-Level Talent Cultivation Project," Transportation Youth Science and Technology Talents, and mid-career academic leaders under Jiangsu's "Qinglan Project," forming a well-structured and dynamic teaching and research team.

The school demonstrates outstanding research capabilities, closely aligning with national strategies and industry demands. Recent years have seen significant achievements in areas such as intelligent transportation, green building, and high-performance materials. Faculty have led or participated in 81 National Natural Science Foundation and provincial/ministerial-level projects, published over 640 high-level academic papers, and obtained more than 200 national invention patents. The school has received over 30 provincial/ministerial-level awards, including the Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Award, Engineering Construction Science and Technology Award, China Architectural Society Science and Technology Progress Award, China Association of Automation Science and Technology Progress Award, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development Huaxia Construction Science and Technology Progress Award, China Intelligent Transportation Association Science and Technology Progress Award, and Jiangsu Provincial Civil Engineering Science and Technology Award, fully showcasing its academic innovation and social service capabilities.

The school's programs hold distinct advantages. Among them, the Transportation Equipment and Control Engineering program has passed the engineering education accreditation from the Ministry of Education and is recognized as a National First-Class Undergraduate Program, a Jiangsu Provincial Outstanding Engineer Education and Training Plan 2.0 program, and a third-phase Jiangsu Provincial Brand Specialty. The Engineering Management program has passed the professional assessment by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and is approved as a Jiangsu Provincial Industry-Education Integration Brand Specialty. Both Civil Engineering and Engineering Management are Jiangsu Provincial First-Class Undergraduate Program construction sites. Upholding the educational philosophy of "Rooted in Moral Cultivation, Centered on Academic Ethos, Driven by Technological Innovation, and Aimed at Holistic Development," the school has achieved notable results in talent cultivation. Over the past three years, more than 60 students have received various provincial and municipal honors, won over 300 awards in various academic competitions, and secured nearly 300 undergraduate innovation and entrepreneurship training projects. Student cultural activities are diverse and vibrant, contributing to the comprehensive development of students' overall qualities.
